Japan’s ability to personify objects as cute characters will be put to the test in Sanjuushi: The Thousand Nobel Musketeers. The series turns black powder weapons like muskets and pistols into bishounen men, similar to how KanColle turns warships into moe girls and Touken Ranbu turns swords into bishounen men.
Sanjuushi: The Thousand Nobel Musketeers is originally a smartphone game. The World Empire suppresses all of humanity after a nuclear war, which leads to a small resistance team to fight with antique guns. Incarnations of these antique guns are called Musketeers and they challenge the World Empire’s forces that are composed of incarnations of contemporary guns.
Kenichi Kasai (Honey and Clover / Bakuman) is directing the adaptation with Takashi Aoshima (Love Lab / Himouto! Umaru-chan) in charge of the composition. Majiro (Barakamon) is designing the cast and Hiroshi Takaki (Kyousougiga / AKB0048) composing the music. TMS Entertainment (Megalo Box / Orange) is producing the animation.
The anime’s main cast includes:
