Pony Canyon released a short anime for the Asagao to Kase-san series, titled Kase-san and Morning Glories. The short has no dialogue and set to “Kimi no Egao,” which is a song featured in Hanako Oku’s 2012 album good-bye. It covers major events from the beginning of the manga up through the “Festival Arc.”
The 5-minute anime was directed, produced, and storyboarded by Takuya Satō (Steins;Gate director) and animated at ZEXCS (Say “I love you.”).
Hiromi Takashima’s popular shoujo-ai manga series is a collection of love stories between track and field star Tomoka Kase and the flower-loving Yui Yamada. The two girls don’t have much in common, but they find themselves falling in love.
The short anime is a stand-alone project celebrating the popular manga and is not meant to an announcement of sorts for an anime series.
Asagao to Kase-san ran for four volumes between August 2010 and March 2017, but a sequel series titled Yamada to Kase-san is currently being serialized in Flash Wings.
Do you think Asagao to Kase-san should get a full anime adaptation?
