The official website for the Inuyashiki anime adaptation began streaming a promo and unveiled the main cast.
Inuyashiki follows an elderly-looking man who receives a mechanical body after an extraterrestrial explosion. He uses his newfound powers to save people from illness and crime. However, a teenager was also exposed to the explosion, but he uses his powers to kill innocents for amusement. One day, these two people will cross paths and meet their fates.
Inuyashiki was created by Hiroya Oku, who’s known for Gantz. He began working on the series in January 2014 and ended the story in July 2017. A total of 85 chapters were written.
The anime’s main voice actors are:
Fumiyo Kohinata (Doctor Dee in Mary and the Witch’s Flower) as Ichiro Inuyashiki. This will be Kohinata’s second anime role, but he’s been a live-action actor since 1977.
Nijirou Murakami as Hiro Shishigami. This will be Murakami’s first anime role, but the 20-year-old has acted in a handful of movies.
Inuyashiki’s main production staff includes:
- Chief Director: Keiichi Satou (Rage of Bahamut: Genesis)
- Director: Shuhei Yabuta (Attack on Titan 3D director)
- Series Composition: Hiroshi Seko (Ajin)
- Character Design: Naoyuki Onda (Ergo Proxy)
- Animation Studio: MAPPA
