Our first look at CGI Alphonse!

The official Fullmetal Alchemist website revealed that the live-action movie is going to open on December 1, 2017. Even more exciting is that they released an image of Alphonse Elric! According to Comic Natalie, the CGI being used to for Al was created specifically for the movie.

Al’s voice actor is still a secret, but we do know that Ryosuke Yamada (Nagisa from Assassination Classroom live-action) is playing Edward Elric. Fumihiko Sori (Ichi director) is going to direct the adaptation. The story will attempt to adapt 108 chapters into one movie.

Sori said the movie will be as faithful as possible to the manga, and that fans should not worry about the Japanese cast playing Europeans because, “there will never be a scene in which a character says something that would identify him/her as Japanese.”
