‘Doki Doki Literature Club’ Wins Big with Awards and 1 Million Downloads

Doki Doki Literature Club! is the 2017 visual novel that has taken the gaming world by storm. At first look, the game seems like a sweet romance but it packs a punch of pain, suffering, and psychological horror.

Team Salvato, led by Dan Salvato, has hit high flying goals that indie developers dream of reaching. Doki Doki Literature Club has earned over 1 million downloads and the game just earned a clean sweep in IGN’s game awards.

IGN staff chose their top games of the year and left Doki Doki Literature Club out in the cold. But fans had the opposite view and voted the visual novel as the Best PC Game, Best Adventure Game, Best Story, and the Most Innovative Game of 2017.

It’s clear that this game has lit the hearts and minds of fans on fire, inspiring a massive following that is pushing this creepy cult hit into the mainstream.
