That inspired my research. That Shrine Maiden Bikini was one of the sexiest concepts I’ve seen, and after a fantasy was turned into reality, it bore fruit to another fantasy: Corrupted Shrine Maiden Bikini.
Anyways, that made me ask: What does a “Corrupted Shrine Maiden” look like?
Turns out, it’s a thing and they’re called “Kuro Miko” or “Dark Shrine Maidens”. (I’d call it Dark Maidens.)
Basically, Kuro Miko are to Miko what Dark Knights are to Paladins. Instead of praising the kind gods, give blessings, and perform exorcisms, they worship and summon demons, kill people, and turn themselves into monsters for increased killing. They’d offer the blood to whoever they worship. Sounds like your typical cult. If shit gets real, they can get possessed by a demon and become the demon themselves, turning into “Oni Miko” or “Demon Shrine Maidens” (or Shrine Demons.) Though not all Oni Mikos are Kuro Mikos.
So far the only Kuro Miko confirmed by Wikipedia are
Tsubaki from Inuyasha:
Kagura from Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven:
And three other characters I can’t find a picture of from this manga:
I think the other Kuro Mikos that could be listed are from Blood Moon Skin Set from League of Legends.
Since they don’t exist in real life, Kuro Miko is just a term created by fans and the internet recognizes its existence. Who knows when Kuro Mikos will become real, or when will they get a Rule 34, or when that Kuro Miko Bikini with dominatrix toys arrives in reality.
So, who are other Kuro Mikos you know? I’d like to see them in the comments.
P.S. Sorry for the boring post, here’s a Kuro Miko Homu Homu.
