A shiny, new trailer began streaming for Bungou Stray Dogs: Dead Apple. The theatrical movie will premiere during the Spring 2018 season!
Story details have not been revealed, but during the movie’s initial announcement last year, it was said the movie will not be a compilation of the anime’s first two seasons. It has been confirmed that the anime’s original staff and voice cast will return for the project.
Bungou Stray Dogs is written by Kafka Asagiri and drawn by Sango Harukawa. The action-fantasy manga takes popular novelists and re-imagines them as superpowered beings fight one-another across faction wars. Osamu Daizai (Armed Detective Agency), Ryūnosuke Akutagawa (Port Mafia), and Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald (The Guild) as the “faces” of their respective factions.
Atsushi Nakajima serves as the protagonist and linchpin for the story. He was an orphan that was brought to the Armed Detective Agency after foiling Daizai’s suicide attempt. Nakajima is under aware of an underworld of superpowered people but learns to control his own powers while taken on missions for the Armed Detective Agency.
Bungou Stray Dogs has gained a legion of global fans due to balancing humor, action, and emotional moments with an incredibly vibrant art style paired with an interesting cast.
Studio Bones produced a 24 episode 2 cour adaptation of Bungou Stray Dogs in 2016. They are also producing the theatrical movie.
