Kodansha revealed that Bakemonogatari creator Nisio Isin is writing a special “short-short story” about Hitagi Senjougahara. The short story, titled “Hitagi Dish.” will ship in a special edition of volume 1 of Oh! great’s manga adaptation of Bakemonogatari.
Oh! great is also writing a short manga tie-in called Bake mono gatari, which will also be included in the special edition. Manga artists Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), Atsushi Ohkubo (Soul Eater), and Yousuke Kaneda (Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet) will be drawing color illustration cards. Volume 1 will ship on June 15.
Bakemonogatari is the first book in Nisio Isin’s long-running urban fantasy series. The book stars Koyomi Araragi, a loner with a supernatural secret. One day, he finds classmate Hitagi Senjougahara falling into his arms and learns that she is weightless. Hitagi reluctantly tells Koyomi about her problem, who revolves to solve it.
Bakemonogatari‘s manga adaptation will begin serialization on March 14 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. Shaft has been adapting every major Monogatari novel into an anime since 2009.
