Oh! great is best known for creating Air Gear and Tenjho Tenge, both of which have anime adaptations. He’s also designed alternative costumes for video games, like in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Soul Calibur IV. While Oh! great isn’t the greatest story writer in the industry, he has always won praise for his stylish, dynamic and fashionable art, which would fit perfectly in the Monogatari universe.
Bakemonogatari is the first book in NisiOisen’s long-running urban fantasy series. The book stars Koyomi Araragi, a loner with a supernatural secret. One day, he finds classmate Hitagi Senjougahara falling into his arms and learns that she is weightless. Hitagi reluctantly tells Koyomi her problem, who revolves to solve it.
Bakemonogatari‘s manga adaptation will begin serialization on March 14 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.
