This is Katsuhiko Takayama.
He is the legend who wrote the Boku no Pico saga!
There are four parts to the Boku no Pico story! It is this generation’s masterpiece.
But that was not enough for ol’ Katsuhiko.
He has worked as a screenwriter adapting manga into anime. Some of the series Katsuhiko has worked on have become popular. It’s the Boku no Pico touch that leads to success.
1. Fullmetal Alchemist
Studio: Ms. Arakawa, we at Bones would love to adapt your series, Fullmetal Alchemist. It has the chance to make anime great again!
Arakawa: Okay, but you’re going to have to write some original material. I’m not rushing this stuff for you.
Studio: Do you have someone in mind to handle the original script?
Arakawa: I’ve always loved Katsuhiko’s talent in handling interpersonal relationships and romance. Get him or I’m going to Studio Deen.
Studio: Cool, we got Gen Urobuchi to create and write an original mecha series for us! Everyone LOVES your work!
Urobuchi: Gotta butcher that dream, fam. I only wrote one page and only have time to direct the first episode.
Studio: WHAT? W-who can we get to take the lead then?
Urobuchi: I know a guy, but you have to pay him in ice cream.
3. ef: A Tale of Melodies
Studio: We must work on something that will bring our viewers to tears! Feals are at an all time high right now.
Intern: Boku no Pico made me cry…
Studio: Hmmm…yes…get Katsuhiro on the phone, we need his talents now!
4. The Future Diary
Director: Oh man, I need to find someone who can get me a thrilling script. I’m on the verge of being fired…
Intern: What we need is someone who is crazy enough to make a yandere lead, killer cell phones, and a cardboard box guy exciting.
Katsuhiro: AND THAT’S WHEN I INTRODUCED THE PENCIL THAT WOULD BE SHOVED UP THAT KID’S ASS!!
Director: …Sir, do you have time to listen to my job offer?
5. Shounen Maid
Executive 1: Stocks are down, we need something that the people will love!
Executive 2: I think this Boku no Pico thing is stealing our audience…
Executive 3: What is that?
Executive 2: Don’t know, but everyone keeps recommending it to fans looking for anime.
Executive 1: Oh…cute girls are on the cover. Ask the writer to give me a TV safe version of this!
6. Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Katsuhiko: I’m tired of writing about sexy boys, ice cream, and rape! I can be funny too, I’ll show all of you bastards!!!!
7. Big Order!
Studio: Why are you here, Mr. Katsuhiko?
Katsuhiko: I really want to write about sexy boys and sexy girls fighting for no reason at all.
Studio: Hmm…this JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure thing seems to be popular. Think you can rip it off without getting the lawyers sent on us?
Katsuhiko: Dodging lawyers is my specialty.
I don’t know how Katsuhiko Takayama still gets writing gigs, but we really do not deserve this wonderful genius. May he continue to save anime.
