Halloween is a great time to pull out a cosplay of your favorite show but we all have lives and good cosplay can take some serious time to make. Here are series filled with quick and easy ideas for anyone looking for an anime-themed costume.
Remember, you can go all out or do a casual cosplay or even do a brilliant low-cost cosplay.
You could really choose any character from Durarara!! for an easy costume! The entire cast sports stylish and functional looks, but Izaya’s casual attire gets a bonus for working as day-to-day clothing. Stop by a thrift store to find a blue blazer or steal a lab coat from somewhere to have a costume assembled in an afternoon.
Noragami is another supernatural series with stylish characters. Yato, Kofuku, Hiyori, and Yukine are the easiest to cosplay since they have loads of casual costumes in the anime. You probably have something in your closet that already matches an outfit in the series. Tack on a purple tail or Yato’s kerchief to be easily recognizable.
L and Light are seriously low-effort looks for people looking for a last-second costume! You just need a long-sleeved white shirt (L) or a dress shirt (Light) paired with some nice pants. Easy!
Shirobako is another low-effort series for fans looking last-second costumes. Every cast member has multiple casual looks that you can find at clothing shops or borrow from friends.
5Attack on Titan
You can actually buy Attack on Titan costumes at Hot Topic and Halloween shops if you are short on time.
Cowboy Bebop is a nice retro anime that most people can rock as an easy casual cosplay. While Faye’s look might be tougher to put together due to the banana-yellow clothing, Spike, Jet, and Ed actually rock timeless attire.
7My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is trendy, so you can reuse a lot of the pieces! The grey blazers and navy pants or skirt are so easy to find for a quick casual costume. If you can get duct tape in dark green, you can add the stripes on the grey blazer pretty easily.
Put on an orange, find a blue belt, then run around screaming and everyone will know who you are. There are also loads of easy Saiyan battle armor tutorials on Youtube for fans wanting to get a little more creative.
Pokémon is nostalgic and it’s always popular to pull off a “grown-up” version of characters like Misty, Brock, and Dawn. Don’t forget to tote around a matching Pokémon plushie!
Put on a lab coat, sundress, or a Hawaiian shirt and claim that you’re a mad scientist! All the college kids will know what’s up.
Get a little fancy with Black Butler! Thrift stores are home to plenty formal wear that you can take advantage of to pull off a sweet Sebastian costume.
Tokyo Ghoul is stylish and creepy enough to fit in with more traditional Halloween looks! You can copy the main characters outfits or just rock blood-stained casual wear, unique masks, or all black while drinking ungodly amounts of coffee.
It’s incredibly easy to cosplay as a Straw Hat member! Just put on a red shirt, cut-off jeans, and a straw hat for a simple Luffy costume or wear jeans and a bikini top for the easiest Nami ever.
